Arts Night at the GSA Conference – Montreal – October 5, 2023

In October of 2023, the graphic artists and editor of ‘But I Live’ were invited to the German Studies Association (GSA) Arts Night & DEFA Screening as guest speakers to discuss the graphic novel.

Charlotte Schallié and Miriam Libicki attended the GSA in person, while Barbara Yelin and Gilad Seliktar joined via Zoom.

Arts Night events are free and open to the public.

Additionally, Charlotte participated in a panel on October 7, focusing on “Migration, Racism, and Memory in the Graphic Novel: DAAD German Studies Professors Roundtable”

The full roundtable included: Regine Straetling (moderator, University of Montreal), Birgit Weyhe, Miriam Libicki, Azadeh Sharifi (University of Toronto), Jan Süselbeck (Norges teknisk-naturvitenskapelige universitet), Elizabeth Nijdam (University of British Columbia) and Charlotte Schallié (University of Victoria).
